Birchbox Un-Boxing - December 2015
Monday, December 07, 2015
Welcome back everyone. Today is one of my favourite days of the month because it was the day I got my Birchbox! As usual, I thought I would take you along with me - so, if you're interested to know what I got this month then keep reading.
Luxe Birchbag
This month, instead of a box, all of the goodies came in a gorgeous clutch bag. It's velvet and leather and sparkle all in one and I can definitely see myself using this - good job Birchbox!
Benefit Puff Off! and They're Real Push Up Liner Duo - Full Size RRP £41
The first thing I spotted was this duo product set from Benefit. I absolutely love Benefit's packaging and I generally am a big fan of their products so I was pretty excited to find these. Puff Off! is a soothing eye cream designed for the morning after a night of festive celebrations - puffy eyes are definitely something I suffer from, especially if I'm burning the wick at both ends around Christmas time, so I'm looking forward to trying this out.
The They're Real Push Up Liner is the teeny tiniest eyeliner you've ever seen in your life! I'm not sure whether there's really enough product to get a decent test out of this. The whole 'push up' concept confuses me a little too, it took a bit of effort to get going but it is a very pigmented, matte black liner. You basically have to squeeze the liner to the tip (it kind of reminded me of those push up ice pops but maybe that's just me) and then almost spread it on. I'm not sure it's going to replace my liquid and felt tip liners, if I'm being honest.
Model Co Ultra Long Lasting Lipstick in Stiletto - RRP £15.50 for Set of 3
I love a long lasting lipstick and I love Model Co - match made in heaven? Not quite. There were three shades available and unfortunately I got the shade I like the least. It's a very strawberry/pink toned red which isn't a colour I would get a lot of use out of, especially since it's pretty much identical to the Clinique Colour Pop lippie I already have in Cherry Pop. It's a really silky smooth formula and has a real sheen to it so I can definitely see other people loving it - it's just not to my taste. The packaging is gorgeous though - really sleek and sturdy and reminds me a lot of the Marc Jacobs lipsticks' cases. I'll probably pass this one on to a friend so it's still nice to have.
Ciate London Paint Pot in Star Struck - Full Size RRP £9
I've been dying to try Ciate nail polishes so I'm really pleased to have got this in my BirchBAG. It's a deluxe size and the colour I have is a silver/rainbow glitter - it's really pretty and unlike anything I already have so this will definitely be put to the test. I usually steer clear of glitter polishes as they're difficult to take off but this one is so beautiful I just can't resist.
Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre - Full Size RRP From £12.99
A super concentrated moisturiser which can double up as a primer. I'm not familiar with this brand but the ingredients list is ringing none of my alarm bells so it's a good start! The cold weather is definitely not friends with my dry skin so I'm keen for giving this a try.
Skin & Co Sicilian Body Gel - Full Size RRP £15
I love getting shower gel samples - call me sad, but it's one of those things I ALWAYS forget to buy. So having a stash of samples in my bathroom is my safety net. This is a really good sample size and has a fresh orange scent (Sicilian orange, pardon me...). The proof will be in the lather as I've grown accustomed to the foam heaven created by the Rituals shower gels - we'll see if it can sway my allegiance!
Beauty Bonus - Catherine Malandrino Style de Paris Eau de Pargum - Full Size RRP from £50
A new perfume sample is our little extra this month. It's quite a sweet but subtle scent, probably a little bit too sweet for me but I can definitely see other people liking it - fragrance is such a personal thing, you can't please everybody!
And that's it! All in all, I'm not totally bowled over by this month's bag (although, I do LOVE the bag itself). The Ciate sample is something I've been meaning to try and the Puff Off! cream should come in handy after too many Christmas cocktails. However, nothing truly excites me from the other products - I always try things out and sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised so hopefully I'll be able to report back with a little more enthusiasm. I am, however, going to paint my nails with some Christmas sparkle immediately!
What did you think of this month's BirchBAG? Did you get anything different to me? Let me know in the comments.

Lovely items. I want to try the milk moisturizer. It looks really concentrated. I love Benefit products as well and think they are fab. :)
