L-R: Plum, Antique, Rose

Welcome back! Today I will be writing about my new favourite lipsticks available on the high street - namely the GOSH Velvet Touch Matte lipsticks available online and at Superdrug for £6.99 each. A bargain for the quality!

I currently own three shades; Antique, Rose and Plum. There are 8 shades available currently (8 mattes but 35 satin finishes, if that's your thing), all really wearable but I would love to see some more daring shades in the future. That said, the two hot pink shades Raspberry and Cherry should be pretty striking given the pigment of the other shades.

Top to Bottom - Plum, Antique, Rose

The formula is creamy and moisturising whilst still giving a matte finish (which I love!). It's really comfortable to wear and doesn't feel at all greasy or drying - just perfectly in the middle for a matte lip colour.

I have also found that these lip colours can be pretty long-lasting - not to the extent of a liquid lipstick or lip lacquer but certainly more so than other lipsticks in my collection (except for the Sleek True Colour lipsticks, they are completely immovable). You can definitely prolong the wear time with a really great lip liner; I have been favouring clear lip liners at the moment and they do a great job at clinging on to the pigment.

Rose in action!

My favourite shade has to be Rose - it's just the perfect rose/nude shade for my skin tone and I find myself reaching for this so often when I just want an easy and effortless look. Antique is a little more of a deeper nude but still really usable and definitely a great shade for autumn/winter. Plum is berry colour with strong pink undertones, not vamp level dark but rich in colour - a little more striking and totally up my alley.

I don't really have a bad word to say about these, they are easily my favourite lipstick in the price range and they're doing a good job at keeping me from placing a MAC order for the time being, so take from that what you will.

What other matte lipsticks should I try? Let me know what your favourites are!
