Hey everyone! On this lazy Saturday I decided to do the Beauty Blogger 'Get To Know Me' Tag which I found somewhere in the depths of the internet and tweaked a little. Hopefully you'll get a little glimpse in to my world and have a few laughs along the way. I look forward to reading your answers whether I tag you or not - make sure you send me your links if you do this. Here we go!
1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
Somewhere in between, definitely more on the curly/wavy/unruly side. And a complete ball of frizz!
2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
I've always dyed and cut my own hair (my Mum used to be hairdresser, so I've had a little training). I alternate between being a brunette and a redhead but it usually ends up as a tie-dye mix of the two!
3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?
I almost always have my hair curly/wavy - either using my GHDs or my hot rollers. If I'm running late then a messy up-do is my fall back option!
4. How long does it take for you to put on makeup?
It depends, I love being able to take my time and really get everything perfect - I could easily spend an hour just enjoying it but most days I spend around 20 minutes ( I like sleep too much to spend any longer most days).
5. What do you do first? Face or eyes?
Face first, always. It seems like the logical order to me. Although, I do my eyebrows before anything else as they take the most time and they're also the most important part to me - they've suffered a hard life of over-plucking and lightening in my days as a blonde, so they definitely need the extra TLC.
6. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
Ha! Collect, definitely. I wish I had the self control to only buy what I needed! Make up is my passion and I get so much joy from it, I can't imagine not being able to buy something just because I loved it.
7. How often do you wear false eyelashes?
I'd wear them everyday if I had the time as I just can't get enough major lashes! I probably wear them once a week, on a Friday night perhaps or if I'm going for a special meal out and want to look and feel extra glamorous. I'm loving my Eylure Lengthening lashes at the moment, they give the perfect wispy look and are so comfortable.
8. What are your current everyday staples?
I'm loving my GOSH matte lipsticks and my Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet liquid lippies. My Benefit Roller Lash mascara is a forever favourite and my new Sleek Enchanted Forest palette is taking over my life!
9. Do you wear makeup when you're home alone or with family?
I'm pretty relaxed about my friends and family seeing me without make up - it's my face after all and I'm happy with or without make up. If I'm home alone I usually do my make up just because I love doing it and trying out new looks (and if something looks awful, nobody else will ever know!).
10. How many high-end products do you have?
Not many, there's a lot on my wishlist though! I love my Tarte Light of the Party palette and I have a couple of things from Shu Uemura and Laura Mercier. Hopefully I'll be able to add to my collection soon.
11. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you're getting dressed?
For a specific event then I would plan in advance but on the day to day, I just throw on whatever is lying around! I generally wear quite simple and classic styles and then jazz it up with some statement jewellery - I also try and make sure I can interchange a lot of my items, so no matter what, I can pull something together.
12. How often do you change your handbag?
I have two everyday handbags - my faux snakeskin and gold Carvela tote which I LOVE and a long strapped shoulder bag in tan vegan leather which I had shipped from a vintage store in California (I got this bag for Glastonbury but I still use it because it's such a laidback style). I have a few clutch bags for events and nights out, mainly nude colours with some sparkle or gold detailing.
13. How often or when do you workout?
Does dog walking count? If it doesn't, then never! I know that's bad and I should probably do (a lot) more. I do try my best to stay active and I do a lot of walking in a very hilly city (Sheffield, the city of seven hills, feels more like twenty seven). In the summer I'm a lot better at doing yoga or just doing some exercises at home but winter time is the season of big jumpers and that means no sit ups for me!
14. Left handed or right handed?
Right handed.
15. How tall are you?

16. Do you speak any foreign languages?
A tiny bit of Spanish but I'm very rusty nowadays!
17. Sweet or savoury?
Definitely sweet. I can't resist desserts and I always have ice cream in the freezer for an emergency (I don't know what kind of emergency but it's there!).
18. What's your favourite perfume?
I love Marc Jacobs Daisy for everyday and Chanel Chance or Prada Amber for a change up.
19. How many pets do you have?
None of my own but we look after my boyfriend's Mum's dog a lot (hence the dog walking). We actually have him for three months this winter whilst she goes travelling so he's definitely going to feel like ours. I'm a cat person truth be told though and my childhood cats Whiskas (who is sadly now in cat heaven) and Rupert will always feel like mine.
20. Do you read comments posted on blogs?
I love reading and replying to comments! Definitely leave me comments!
21. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
I use Pinterest to keep a wishlist and I definitely get some of those ideas from other blogs. I'm also a big fan of vlogs and I want pretty much anything Leighannsays or Kathleen Lights try out!
22. How did you come up with your blog name?
Well, I'm a Northern girl with a truly Northern soul - Yorkshire tea runs through my veins and it keeps me warm. I also happen to love Northern Soul music - if there's music playing, I'll be dancing (badly).
23. What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?
I use my iPhone 6 camera for a lot of things, it's easy to use and I always have it with me. I'm not terrible at photo editing so I think I can make the most out of my phone photos. For product shots I use a Canon IXUS 70 but I REALLY want a Samsung NX Mini. Hopefully next year I'll be able to treat myself to my dream camera.
24. What's your favorite color?
Gold, green and pink. I know that's three but I'm a rebel, what can I say?
25. Do you swear?
Yes. Unapologetically.
26. What are you doing with the rest of your day?
It's a lazy Saturday so it's pyjamas, cups of tea and YouTube videos for me!
